Got cabin fever? The cure is Watson Homestead’s Quilters Retreat!
With Instructor Linda Halpin
“PICK UP STICKS” Weekend Quilt Workshop
Welcome to the Eleventh Annual Cabin Fever Retreat at Watson Homestead! This year’s class features the quilt Linda was commissioned to design for the 2015 Wisconsin Statewide Shop Hop. It combines all of her favorite things: working with a wide variety of fabrics, making small blocks that look harder to do than they are, and new patchwork tricks that make the process efficient with excellent results.
The Shop Hop quilt was a two color quilt, combining the red and grey fabrics of this year’s feature fabrics. But Linda couldn’t stop there; she had to see what it would look like using a mixture of lots of colors. The hardest part of this class will be deciding which way you want to color your quilt.
Just as in past years Saturday night is “show and tell” and a good time to share projects that you have created. In addition to quilts also bring along a non-quilt item that you have made. It can be knit, crocheted, painted, jewelry, scrapbook…just something fun to share.
* Once registered, students will receive a materials list, detailing what to bring. Workshop limited to 30 students and a $5 handout fee for all class handouts will be collected in class.
