Cabin Fever Quilt Retreat

Linda Halpin will join us once again to instruct at our Cabin Fever Quilt Weekend February 6-8, 2015.  This years workshop entitled "Postcards" is described by Linda in the following:

POSTCARDS:  A Remembrance Quilt:
Welcome to the Tenth Annual Cabin Fever Retreat at Watson Homestead!  This year’s class features the quilt I was commissioned to design for Wisconsin’s Statewide Shop Hop.  In it, we take rectangular motifs that have been fussy-cut out of the specialty fabric of your choice and turn them into squares that can then be set together in a traditional block arrangement.  The design created by the setting blocks serves to further frame your specialty fabric.
What is so much fun about this design is the possibilities!  Use rectangles of plain fabric and embellish them with signatures, turning it into an Album Quilt (great for weddings, graduations, or reunions!), or fill them with quotes for an Inspirational Quilt.... how about doing some photo transfers for a really special keepsake.... or fussy cut motifs from children’s prints to make a Story Quilt.  What ideas can you come up with?

The class sample is a wall-hanging size (41” x 41”) but instructions include multiple sizes so you can make the size of your choice
